This recipe is if you're grinding your own wheat, but you can substitute regular store-bought white flour as well, if you'd like. I'd use the 2 1/2 C. measurement if you use store-bought white flour.
CREAM CHEESE BREAKFAST BISCUITS
from Bread Beckers
http://www.breakbeckers.com/recipes
2 C. flour (hard white, or if you would like to use Soft White use 2 1/2 cups)
1 T. baking powder
3/4 t. salt
3 ounces cream cheese
1/2 stick butter
2/3 C. milk
Mix together dry ingredients, cut in cream cheese and butter. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients, pour in milk. Mix together to form a ball. Turn out onto floured service and knewad 10-12 times. Roll out to 1/2 inch thick and cut into rounds. Bake 10-12 minutes at 450 degrees.
*** For a more tender biscuit place rounds on a cookie sheet with sides touching.
I've always gotten compliments from my family and other recipients of these delectable treats. It's not me, mind you, it's just a really good recipe for a really good biscuit. Give them a try! I don't think you'll regret it.
Happy baking!
Susan

Too bad they have wheat in them. ;) They do sound delicious, though. I haven't ventured too far into making gluten free breads yet.
I bet you could use a different flour. Sorry to tempt you with a gluten-filled recipe. Gluten-free flours are very expensive though, aren't they? Bummer.
oh, that sounds amazing! I have never made a nice biscuit from scratch like this. I'll have to shock John and do that for him on his next day off. He LOVES sausage, biscuits and gravy.
Your blog is so pretty with your wallpaper! Very nice. :)
I'm supposed to avoid wheat and whole wheat, but I can use spelt. Spelt flour bakes similarly to regular wheat flour. Rice flour is very fine and gritty. I doubt it would work well, but you could try it with less milk. There's probably enough sticky stuff in there to hold the biscuits together. I may have to try. Thanks, Susie!
Hey, Robynn! Good to hear from you! Thanks for the tips -- I'm sure Renee will appreciate them.
Hi, Kathy! My hubby loves sausage and gravy too. Actually, I'm pretty partial to that dish myself. =) The cream cheese taste really comes out when they're room temp. So, they'd be a great make-ahead thing as well. If you get to give them a try, I hope that your family enjoys them.
Thanks for the kind words about my blog.
Have a great day, girls!
